YEAR 2 semester 4
the project give in technology and construction subject basically focusing on steel structure,
we are to choose one of the lrt station in kuala lumour for further study,
so me and chee choon chose PWTC LRT station

PWTC lrt station
is an LRT stations in Kuala Lumpur that is served by the RapidKL Ampang Line.
It is opened on december 16, year 1996.

This lrt station is specialized by its site where the Gombak River can be found beneath it.
Since the river is there, the whole lrt station is to be lifted up where we can found the main structural system is the four massive concrete column.

the cantilevered part which is the platform area is supported by the steel structural member that mostly composed of red tension steel structure.

Circular ending at both side enhance the aesthetic effect of the lrt station. We can also found out the application of skylight to maximise daylighting in order to save energy.

  1. Hello Rien, I'm currently a second year architecture student in university malaya, currently we are doing a project and our site is located next to the LRT PWTC, so we have to include the LRT in our section. I was wondering if you were willing to share your board in pdf version so that I could view the measurements of the LRT? I would be a big help if you could since we are studying online and it is difficult to get all the measurements on site :(
